Entenmann’s Bakery, a division of Bimbo Bakeries USA and producer of over 100 sweet baked goods, has partnered for the sixth year in a row with The Salvation Army for the annual National Donut Day holiday. The Salvation Army established the holiday, which is held annually on the first Friday of June, in 1938 in Chicago. The intention was to honor the “Donut Lassies” who served the treats to soldiers during World War I and to help raise funds necessary during the Great Depression.
