I was lucky enough to attend Lakeshore's Holiday 2016 preview event and might I say what a LIFE SAVER that was!!! Toys are a staple in everyones home, sometimes parents choose a toy that offers slightly more of an
educational  hint of fun that rather just the toy that looks cool.

But Lakeshore offers toys that are freaking awesome & educational! Kids will fall in love with the bright colors, cool functions, versatile ways some of the toys can be played with & parents will love how behind every toy is a lessoned to be learned but the kids won't even realize due to all the fun they are having. Lakeshore's toys range from ages 0-11 years of age, something for everyone. Honestly the whole family can have fun with them, have some good ole quality time with your kiddos, let their creativity & imagination flow.

During this holiday season that right around the corner, give yourself one less headache and look into Lakeshore's products if you haven't already. Trust me its a win-win for both your kids & yourself!!!

Meet the Wellie Wishers: Ashlyn, Camille, Willa, Kendall, & Emerson

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend a special event at the American Girl Store/Cafe located in midtown Manhattan. American Girl launched their new group of adorable dolls: The Wellie Wishers, a sweet group of silly girls who each have the same big, bright wish. Which is to be a good friend.

We got to see them up close and personal as well as watch a cute trailer featuring the Wellie Wishers and their adventures in their series coming out this Fall 2016. We were able to enjoy some breakfast at the american girl cafe and  then  listen to the author of Wellie Wishers herself, Mrs. Valerie Tripp. It was so wonderful to see her passion behind the stories & how she related to the characters herself, Her love for all her characters give the readers th chance to fall in love with the character themselves!. Your little one is sure to find one that she loves.

The Wellie Wishers are now available at the American Girl store or online
They retail for $60 each and make the perfect gift.
Recommended for ages 5 and up. But still any girl can fall in love with a Wellie Wisher & have a new best friend!
Make sure to check out the newest line of dolls from the American Girl, more affordable than ever.

With Mrs. Valerie Tripp, such an amazing author whom you can tell puts in so much love into all she does!

As you can tell Frida is absolutely in love with her new Wellie Wisher doll Ashlyn! She legit snacthed the bag out of my hand to see what was in it but did not expect it to have her new best friend. Since then she has made sure that Ashlyn is always be her side.

.. Car Safety, Are you using the right car seat?? ..

Summer time is here, school is almost over & the road trips are about to commence!
The kids are excited to hit the beach, water parks & not having to wake up to go to school, Lol. While parents sanely try to get everything from snacks, activities, iPads, DVDS (if you're ducky enough to have a dvd player in you're car, Lol) & anything to help the trip go smoothly.
But do you ever stop & think Is my kids carseat/booster seat correctly installed? Is he/she in the right one?
Honestly sometimes we overlook it, not because we aren't responsible but because our mind is worrying about having a stress, cry & whine free trip. No judgement here! Ive totally fall into the category, especially since my little on suffers from motion sickness (thats a whole another post upon itself) I usually leave the car seat checking to my husband.
Lately though Ive taken it upon myself to ask him or remind him if he checked the car seat was still correctly in place (but he doesn't need the reminder, he's always on top of it).

Here are a few key tips for car seat safety: ( Source: National Highway traffic safety administration)

1. Make sure your child rides in the backseat. The backseat is generally the safest place in a crash. If your vehicle has a passenger air bag, it's essential for children 12 & under to ride in the back.
2. Make sure infants ride facing the rear until they're about age 1 & at least 20 to 22 pounds. Infants who weigh 20 pounds before 1 year of age should ride in a restraint approved for higher rear facing weights. Always read your child restraint owner manual for instructions on properly using the resistant. Children over age 1 and at least 20 pounds may ride facing forward.
3. Check to see that the safety belt holds the seat tightly in place.  Put the belt through the correct slot. If your safety seat can be used facing either way, use the correct belts slots for each direction. The safety belt must stay TIGHT when securing the safety seat.
4. Make sure the harness is buckled snugly around your child. Keep the straps over your child's shoulder. The harness should be adjusted so you can slip only one finger underneath the straps at your child's chest. Place the chest clip t armpit level.
5. Have children over 40 pounds use a booster seat. Keep your child in a safety seat with a full harness as long as possible, until she/he is at least 40 pounds. Then use a belt-posyioning booster seat, which helps the adult lap and shoulder belt fit better. a belt-portioning booster seat, used with the adult and shoulder belt, is preferred for children weighing 40 to 80 pounds.
6. Check safety belt fit on older children. The child must be tall enough to sit without slouching, with knees bent at the edge of the seat, with the feet on the floor. the lap belt must fit low and tight across the upper thighs. The shoulder belt should rest over the shoulder & across the chest. Never put the shoulder belt under the child's arm or behind her back. The adult lap & shoulder belt system alone will not fit most children until they're at least 4 feet 9 inches tall & weigh about 80 pounds.

Please keep in mind that when properly using a car seat it reduces the risk of death of infants 0-1 year of age nearly by 71% and toddlers aged 1-4 years by 54% in passenger vehicles.
Booster seat use reduces the risk for serious injury by 45% for children aged 4-8years when compared to the seat belt alone..

So let the summer fun begin but PLEASE be safe!!!

.. Sunday Funday! ..

Just driving around ....

She wanted to drive! Lol (The car is parked!

.. I love her so much! ..

.. Muah!!! ..

.. We get to act silly, while daddy drives!! ..

Don't BULLY my BREED!!!

I have come across many unpleasant comments and/or confrontations (non-physical) when walking my fur baby. It deeply saddens my heart to hear such horrible things people can blur out but it hurts most when my 3yr old hears those comments & asks "Mommy, why do they say bad things about Maverick?" I simply tell her that they don't know him and don't know how sweet he is.
I understand peoples fear to dogs because i was terrified of any dog but unlike them, I've never went out of my way to make horrible comments about their dog. If they only knew that my Maverick is a big baby, he loves his family just as much as we love him. His wagging tail always welcomes us home & his slobbering kisses fill us with laughter.

Here are some facts about bully breeds:
* The American Bully is a happy, outgoing, stable and confident dog.
Gentle, loving, good natured, extremely loyal and an affectionate family pet.
* This unique breed is noted for displaying extreme tolerance with children & an overwhelming eagerness to please its family.
* Extremely courageous & intelligent guard dog, full of life.
* Versatile & capable of accomplishing a wide variety of tasks.
* Overall the American Bully is a well-rounded, reliable, trustworthy & ideal family companion.

When we live with dogs, we become their pack. The entire pack cooperates under a single leader; lines are clearly defined. You must show your dog that you are the leader & establish boundaries for them. With rules, tolerance, & love your relationship with your dog can be a success. (Any breed of dog)

Before you label my breed or any type of dog that seems dangerous to you, be sure you know what you are talking about, because ignorance spreads quickly & thats how wrong information goes around. So please:

DON'T BULLY MY BREED!!

If you are going to judge him by his size, do so but only judge the size of his HEART!!

" Whoever said diamonds are a girls best friend, never owned a dog."
